Description

A fast-growing, family-owned Quebec brewery with a multi-site environment is looking for its Director of Finance. You will report directly to a respected and valued CEO. As Finance Director, you will be responsible for the strategic management of the company's finances. You will oversee tax audits, budget preparation and monitoring, financial audits, as well as the monthly closing of financial statements. You will work closely with the teams to implement rigorous financial processes and ensure operational compliance.

Your mission will include excise tax management, including control of amounts and payments, as well as budget preparation, coordinating data collection and integration of financial information. You will be responsible for preparing the sales and expenses budget, working with the various departments to adjust forecasts. You will also monitor variances between budget and actual results, and take corrective action where necessary.

In addition, you will also organize financial audits, including the year-end audit and quarterly mini-audits to validate certain key figures. At the same time, you will oversee the monthly closing of accounts, ensuring that financial statements are ready and published on time.

The challenges of this role include implementing an effective budgeting process, continuous improvement of existing financial systems and managing excise taxes. You will need strong analytical skills, excellent inter-departmental coordination and solid experience in financial management, taxation and auditing to succeed in this role.

Profile

Bilingual CPA with at least 8 years of experience, ideally in management accounting and a good command of IFRS. Expertise in cost accounting is essential, particularly given the company's low margins. You will also need solid experience in inventory management, given the high volumes the company handles.

We are looking for a candidate with a “hands-on” approach, with a strong management accounting focus and a strong sense of rigor to ensure the reliability of figures. You will need to be able to provide accurate and relevant reporting, while also being able to offer practical recommendations and concrete solutions, without necessarily seeking to reinvent everything.

We are looking for a dynamic person with a strong business orientation, able to work effectively in an environment where financial management must be constantly adjusted and optimized. You will need to demonstrate the ability to balance financial challenges while maintaining the company's operational performance.
