Description

A leading public company in the manufacturing sector is looking for an Assistant Corporate Controller to join its dynamic team. You will report to a valued manager, who always keeps her door open and remains available to her team. She is a team player. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, you will be responsible for consolidating financial information and preparing interim and annual consolidated financial statements. This position requires close collaboration with other members of the finance team in order to complete various projects, while carrying out accounting research for the processing of new transactions and the application of new accounting standards.

You will be responsible for drafting the interim and annual notes that accompany these financial statements, and for contributing to the preparation of monthly and quarterly internal management reports, working with the external auditors on their interim review and annual audit. 

Another of your responsibilities will be to oversee the preparation of corporate tax reports by an external firm, as well as managing relations with tax authorities in Canada.

You will provide support to subsidiaries to meet the needs of the consolidation department, and will be responsible for implementing and managing internal controls while ensuring compliance with established financial policies, processes and procedures.

With a view to continuous improvement, you will contribute to the optimization of accounting and financial processes in order to achieve best practices. Finally, you will support the treasury department and supervise staff.

Profile

Bilingual CPA with a minimum of 10 years of experience (ideally in the manufacturing sector), with experience in public company external disclosure. This autonomous and hands-on professional, capable of making accounting entries, will have experience in a multi-company and multi-currency environment. The candidate must master IFRS standards and have an excellent knowledge of Excel. Autonomy, initiative and good management of priorities are essential, as are team spirit and thoroughness.
